North Bondi

The beach provides the safest area for swimming along the famous Sydney stretch of beach. It’s relatively low hazard rating is due to the beaches partial protection by the northern headland which generally reduces wave height. During the summer, the beach is popular with beginners, with the central area closed to board riders. The headland produces a good left for board riders during larger swells.

Rock pools are located at the northern end of the beach. The public is warned to watch for the rip that can drag swimmers towards the rocks at this location. Generally, North Bondi is cut by one or two rip currents. North Bondi SLSC was the Sydney Branch Champion Club for season 2001 – 2002.
