Junior Lifesaver of the Year 2014-2015
Mar 10, 2015 By Surf Live Saving AdminSydney Board of Junior Development is proud to announce this years winners of the Sydney Branch Junior Lifesaver of the Year. Announced at the 2015 Branch Age Championships the winners were :
Female Winner : Emily Maythers, North Cronulla SLSC
Male Winner: Jed Buckley, Wanda SLSCThe winners were presented their plaques by the BJD Director Doug Hawkins and Sally Fielke General Manager Corporate Affairs Sydney Airport Corporation Limited.
These young lifesavers are outstanding members of their clubs and our Branch and they are already heavily involved with their clubs and making an impact with their focus and commitment said Doug Hawkins SLS Sydney Branch BJD Director.
The winners were selected by a panel representing the BJD and the BoL. Each Finalist were interviewed by the Panel and also had the opportunity to present their ideas and thoughts that they believe would benefit SLS across the board.
Emily and Jed will now be representing Sydney Branch at the SLSNSW JLOTY Development Camp in April and we wish them well at this event. We know they will represent us to the best of their ability.
The finalists from this year JLOTY were from across the clubs and each of these young lifesavers represented their club with a true focus on wanting to be the best lifesaver they can be and how each of them can benefit lifesaving across the Branch.
