Rescue of the Month

Each month a ‘Rescue of the Month’ Award will be available at both Branch and State level for the most outstanding rescue for that period. (Periods : Jul, Aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, April & May, Jun).
The ROM aims to recognise excellence in lifesaving and service delivery, measured against industry best practice and operating procedures. It is not to encourage unnecessary risk, or neglect safety considerations and Standard Operating Procedures.
The program is designed to :
1. Increase the recognition and promotion of lifesavers, surf clubs, lifesaving services (Support Operations) and ALS lifeguards after an incident; and
2. Increase the number of worthy Meritorious Awards.
Note : The ROTM is a separate recognition program to the SLSA Meritorious Awards.

Process :
Nominations from clubs/services are submitted online direct to SLSNSW .
State then provide Branch with ROM nomination from our Clubs for that month.
LSOC Exec & Director Education review the nominations.
Branch select their ‘Branch Rescue of the Month’ and forward the details to SLSNSW by the due date
