SLS Sydney Awards of Excellence 2017

The Awards of Excellence recognises outstanding achievements and contributions in all aspects of Surf Life Saving. The awards will celebrate the accomplishments of members and clubs in the 2016/17 season. This year’s awards will be presented at the Surf Life Saving Sydney Awards of Excellence function on Saturday 20^th 2017 at Tradies , Gymea.

It is important to note, only one application is allowed per club for each award category. All nominations are to be endorsed by respective clubs and forwarded to Surf Life Saving Sydney Branch Office.

Lifesaver and Volunteer of Year, Club of the Year nominations are due by 1st April 2017.

All other nominations are due by 18th April 2017

Junior Iron Event – Nutri-Grain

Nutri-Grain Final Series is heading back to North Cronulla on Saturday, 25^th February and Sunday, 26^th February and Sydney Branch Surf Sports is excited to be holding a new event before the main event.

Format as follows

JUNIOR IRON – Eliminator style format where a cap of 40 male, 40 female competitors race a maximum three times. After each race, the bottom ten competitors will be eliminated, leaving the top 10 to compete in the final of the Junior Iron Event.

Round 1 – 2 heats of 20 athletes. Top 10 from each heat progress to the next round
Under 15 m/f = 40,Under 17 m/f = 40

Round 2 – 1 race of 20 athletes. Top 10 go through to the final
Under 15 m/f = 20 Under 17 m/f = 20

Round 3 – 1 race of 10 athletes
Under 15 m/f = 10 Under 17 m/f = 10

Under 15 Iron will compete a Swim / Board course to be held on Saturday, 25^th February commencing at 8:0am sharp. Registration will be 7am.

Under 17 Iron will compete a Swim / Board course to be held on Sunday, 26^th February commencing at 9:00am Sharp. Registration will be 8am.

Entries will be for the first 40 financial/proficient member to be entered into the carnival entry system.
