The annual gear inspection was conducted 30/31st August. Thank you to Clubs and Gear Inspection Panel members for their time completing this task. Clubs are reminded to ensure that you now complete the Surfguard actions of your Gear & Equipment prior to 17/9/2014 as part of compliancy requirements. All re-inspects need to be completed before patrols commence. Contact your area Lifesaving Supervisor to complete your re-inspects of equipment.

2nd Annual Gala Day – 14 September 2014
Sydney Branch will be holding 2nd Annual Gala Day at Nth Cronulla SLSC on Sunday 14th September 2014 commencing at 9am. Activities will include:

Mentoring Workshops
The Branch will be holding Mentoring workshops on 19th August and 28th August 2014. Club Chief Training Officers have identified their Clubs mentors who will be attending these scheduled workshops. For more information please contact your Club’s Chief Training Officer.
Club Patrol Operation Manuals (POM)
Clubs will have received correspondence from the Branch DOL and a copy of the Clubs Patrol Operations Manual new format.
SLSNSW have updated most of the information with clubs only having to edit/provide the following content :
Communications (page 3), Hazard Risk Management Plan (page 7), Daily Patrol Procedures (page 10), Equipment Location (page 11), Club Rules (page 12), Local Government By-Laws (page 12), Emergency Rally Point (page 17)
Once the above information has been completed, please send your POM back to the Branch Office. SLSNSW will be printing your Club POM on water proof paper and returning the POM in a folder specifically designed to house the POM, Patrol Log Book and Incident Report Log.
