The Surf Life Saving Sydney Club of the Year award is one of the highest levels of recognition within the Surf Life Saving Sydney Awards of Excellence framework. This award recognises clubs for their operational and strategic excellence.
This award links to the SLSNSW and SLSA Club of the Year Awards.
This year the criteria for Club of the Year is published at the start of the 2022/23 Season to allow clubs to plan and focus on the key criteria to assist them in their application. It also supports the key Surf Life Saving Sydney organisational initiatives/values that are topical in the year ahead.
The Surf Life Saving Sydney Club of the Year criteria has two key components:
1. Operational excellence. Clubs demonstrate that their day-to-day operations are healthy and that
they take an active role in managing business as usual.
2. Strategic development. Clubs demonstrate that they are stretching into new areas of development.
This section is defined at the start of the season based on current strategic issues impacting the organisation and that when addressed positively impact on Club life.
