ROM February 2020

Congratulations to Bronte SLSC  who have been awarded Sydney Branch Rescue of the Month for February. The rescue which took place at Bronte Beach 7.30 pm on  1st February 2020 .
To the members involved and in particular James McLennan, Kirsty McLennan, Eric Kammerer, Marcos Puga, Ivan Power, Matthew Johnston were in the water, alongside off-duty Lifeguards Wally Eggleton and Noah Finnimore and Tom Faddy ( Function Barman). On the beach assisting were Will Johnstone (age 15), Will Hartwig (age 15), Jack Van Straalen, Georgie Byron, Craig Betts and Simon Spinks – well done, your efforts on this occasion were outstanding and certainly resulted in a positive outcome of this after hours rescue.   Full details of the rescue can be read here

Junior Lifesaver of the Year Announcement

Sunday 16 February SLS Sydney proudly  announced our Junior Lifesavers of the Year for Season 2019-2020 
Congratulations to Yasmeen Janschek (F)- Coogee SLSC and Rory Davey (M) – Bondi SBLSC
We had an amazing group of 13 finalists from across the Branch, and thanks Bondi, Clovelly, Coogee, Maroubra, South Maroubra, Wanda and Elouera for your nominations.
These young Lifesavers all represented their Clubs very proudly, and Yasmeen and Rory will now go on to represent Sydney Branch at the State JLOTY Development Camp.

The presentation was attended by our major Sponsor Sydney Airport represented by Claire Garth and Mayor Danny Said Randwick City Council.
