Surf Rescue 30 Branch ROM Winner February 2017

Congratulations to Surf Rescue 30 who have been awarded Sydney Branch Rescue of the Month Winner for February 2017. Rescue was conducted on 5th February 2017 at approximately 3.00 pm at the southern headland Bronte beach/Waverley Cemetary where 2 teenage girls had gotten themselves stuck in a sea cave in treacherous conditions. The crew of SR30 reached the girls and accessed them and the situation. The crewman decided tat as the girls were tired scare and not good swimmers, it was not advisable to attempt to swim them off the rocks and pose more of a danger to their welfare. In consultation with DO and SurfCom, SR30 Skipper requested the assistance of Lifesaver 21 to assist in the safe extraction of the two patients.  Great work by the SR30 team as this outcome could have been a very different situation.
